Privacy Policy

Last updated 9 August 2026

Get Lit Records Ltd. (“Get Lit Records”, “we”, “us”) operates getlitrecords.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We are based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and handle personal information in line with Canada's PIPEDA and, where it applies to visitors in the EU/UK, the GDPR.

What we collect

  • Demo submissions. Your artist name, email address, track title, streaming link, socials, sample/clearance notes and any message you include.
  • Contact enquiries. Your name, email address, enquiry type and message.
  • Newsletter signups. Your email address and the date you consented.
  • Basic technical data. Standard server and hosting logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested), retained for security and troubleshooting.

Why we use it

  • To listen to, evaluate and respond to demo submissions.
  • To answer enquiries about bookings, licensing, press and general label business.
  • To send you label news and release announcements, but only if you have opted in.
  • To keep the site secure and working.
  • To measure whether our advertising works, and to reach people who have already shown interest — only if you accept all cookies.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing. Where advertising measurement is enabled by your consent, Meta acts as our measurement partner under its own policy.

Demo submissions specifically

Music you send us is treated as confidential and is listened to only by people involved in A&R at the label. Sending a demo does not create any contract, obligation or partnership between us, and does not transfer any rights in your music — you keep everything. We keep unsuccessful submissions for up to 12 months so we can recognise you if you send us something again, then delete them. Ask us to delete yours sooner and we will.

Cookies and analytics

Nothing is set until you say yes. When you first visit, we ask whether you'll allow analytics. Until you choose “Allow analytics”, no Google script is downloaded and no analytics cookie exists. If you decline, that stays true — permanently.

  • Consent cookie (glr_consent_v1) — first-party, set only once you make a choice, so we don't ask again. Stores nothing but your answer. Expires after 180 days.
  • Google Analytics 4 (_ga) — first-party, set only if you allow analytics. Tells us how many people visit, which releases they look at, and which streaming links they click, so we know where to put our effort. We have not enabled Google Signals, advertising features, or remarketing on this property.
  • Meta Pixel (_fbp) — set only if you choose “Accept all”. Lets us see which of our Facebook and Instagram ads actually bring people to the site, and lets us show ads to people who have visited before. If you choose “Analytics only” or reject non-essential cookies, this never loads.
  • Vercel Speed Insights & Web Analyticsno cookies, no identifiers, no personal data. Measures how fast pages load and aggregate page counts so we can keep the site quick. Because nothing is stored on your device and no one is identified, this runs without consent.
  • Embedded players — Spotify players load only when you click play. Once loaded, Spotify may set its own cookies under its own policy. We use click-to-load specifically so nothing third-party runs until you choose it.

We run Google Consent Mode v2. Advertising storage, ad personalisation and ad user data are denied by default, and are granted only if you choose “Accept all”. Choosing “Analytics only” grants analytics storage and nothing else.

To change your mind at any time, delete the glr_consent_v1 cookie in your browser settings — the choice will be offered again on your next visit. You can also opt out of Meta’s ad personalisation directly in your Facebook ad preferences.

Service providers

The site is hosted on Vercel. Form submissions and newsletter signups are delivered to our own email inboxes through Resend. Analytics, if you allow it, are processed by Google Analytics, and advertising measurement, if you accept all cookies, by Meta Platforms. Fonts are self-hosted on this domain, so no font provider receives your IP address. Each of these providers processes limited technical data as part of delivering the site.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it — including withdrawing consent to marketing emails at any time, either through the unsubscribe link in any email or by writing to us. Email info@getlitrecords.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we update this policy we will change the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced on the site.
